Liquid-cooled chargers vastly outperform air-cooled ones. Liquid cooling uses circulating coolant to remove heat directly, achieving roughly 1,000 times the efficiency of air cooling. It reliably supports sustained currents above 500A, features fully sealed construction with IP65 protection, operates with lower noise, and has lighter cables. Air-cooled chargers rely on fans and airflow, are significantly affected by ambient temperature, lose cooling effectiveness sharply beyond 250A, require vents that lower protection ratings (~IP54), and suffer from higher noise levels and heavier cables.
